Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis works by accessing the subconscious mind the part of our mind where all our memories, habits, beliefs, and experiences are stored.

Within your subconscious, there may be patterns of thought and behaviorbehaviour that no longer serve you.

These patterns/ habits/ thoughts can be deeply ingrained, making them challenging to change through conscious effort alone. Hypnotherapy allows us to communicate directly with your subconscious, providing it with new, positive suggestions that can replace these unhelpful patterns.

During the session I will guide you in a trance this is exactly the same kind of trance that you naturally enter into numerous times per day – when you’re daydreaming or when you’re watching television, for example. It’s completely natural and nothing to fear. It’s merely a state of deep focus and is a lovely moment of relaxation.

It’s very different to the stage hypnosis you may have seen! The idea that you have no power at all is a complete myth. Even the people who take part in stage hypnosis aren’t actually being controlled. They’re simply very open to suggestions and are selected as participants on that basis.

One thing that you need to know about hypnotherapy – you’re always aware and always in control. I can’t make you do something that you don’t want to do.

I can’t make you cluck like a chicken or lose control in any way. Just as you can easily bring yourself out of a trance when you’re daydreaming, the same applies in hypnotherapy.

Your subconscious mind is very open to positive suggestions but you’re never being controlled.

When we are in this calm state our conscious (monkey mind) goes quiet and becomes still enabling our subconscious mind to become more receptive once we can access the subconscious mind, we are able to reprogram negative thought patterns and replace them with positive beliefs/ habits/ feelings.

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) helps you to make sense of your life by breaking down your difficulties into manageable parts.

Five areas are analysed: situations, thoughts, emotions, physical feelings, actions.

CBT is based on the concept of these elements being interconnected, and all affecting each other. For example, your thoughts surrounding a certain situation can lead to both physical and emotional responses, as well as how you behave in response.

A thought always comes before a feeling, and this affects our response (Action)

CBT is a treatment that is intended to change any thinking or behaviour that stands in the way of how a person would like to live their life.

Exploring negative perceptions or distortions and tries to identify the ways those interfere with our actions and behaviour These can be thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, among other things.

Using Cognitive Restructuring we are able to challenge thoughts seeking out different perspectives or presenting your own views in a way that can disprove our assumptions. Once we can reframe the thought, we can have a more objective and diverse perspective on what we are thinking.

EFT

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often referred to as tapping, is a transformative method that blends elements of psychology and acupressure to offer relief from emotional distress and physical tension.

EFT is a highly effective technique that can be used in the moment to relieve anxiety and stress.

Tapping on Meridian Points

EFT involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on the identified emotional issue.

These meridian points are the same ones used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years to promote energy flow and balance.

As you tap on these points and acknowledge the emotional issue, EFT allows for a release of pent-up emotions and allowing you an instant feeling of calm.

IEMT

When we are affected negatively by our memories, this can change our whole outlook on life, leaving us stuck for possibly be a long time.

IEMT works on the memory imprints that are causing the emotion. It does not work on the emotion alone, but on the basis of removing negative emotions from memories with the use of eye movements to create change.

The memories remain of course, however, as the eyes are moved in certain rhythmic sequences, by following the practitioners finger movements, the positioning of that memory changes and therefore the emotion attached to that memory also changes.

After having had this therapy, clients may well experience a new found freedom from the release of negative emotions. Being attached to past trauma can be harrowing, causing long lasting self-limiting beliefs within the psyche.

This therapy also includes work on identity of the self – exploring what has happened in the past in relation to where they are right now.

Creating clarity and focus, making the mind much quieter and happier. It also allows for better decision making and goal setting for a brighter future.
